Photograph the
marked edge.

One mark per sheet, a paint dot or a size sticker. Take the photo and you get the count back, plus what to fix if the photo will not read cleanly.

  • Every count is read twice: once as photographed, and once smaller, as if taken from further away. If the two reads disagree, the count goes for a check instead of being finalised.
  • The edge is also re-read with the lighting evened out. A count that only holds up under one exposure is not reported as settled.
  • When a photo cannot be read cleanly you get a retake, never a guessed number.
  1. 01Get the whole marked edge in the photo, top to bottom.
  2. 02Stand close enough that the edge fills most of the screen.
  3. 03Keep light on the edge — avoid deep shade and glare.
  4. 04Face the edge square-on rather than from a sharp angle.
